Accounting Manager (Denver, CO)

Intelligent Imaging Innovations, Inc. (3i) is a market-leading manufacturer of digital microscopy workstations and software for life sciences research. 3i was founded in 1995 and provides an energetic and diverse corporate culture. 3i has offices in Denver, Santa Monica (CA), and Goettingen, Germany as well as field personnel. We have an opening for an accounting manager and are looking for an experienced, hard-working, well-organized, ethical, and personable individual to join our dedicated team in Denver, Colorado. The qualified candidate must have a BA or BS in accounting, thorough knowledge of GAAP, at least five years' experience in a business environment, excellent written and oral communication skills, history of designing and implementing solutions to meet organizational needs, and strong computer skills (particularly proficiency in analysis and modeling using Microsoft Excel), and a "no job is beneath me" attitude. Knowledge of Peachtree, CPA certification, personnel and project management experience are all highly desirable. Ideally, the successful applicant will have overseen an organization's accounting system upgrade. Applicant must be a US citizen or hold permanent resident status.

Job responsibilities are as follows:
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to the general ledger
  • Verify and post AR, AP, and cash transactions
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliation
  • Prepare reports including financial statements, trial balances, adjustments, and closing entries
  • Interact with our German subsidiary and its accountant
  • Interact with outside tax accounting firms in both the US and Germany
  • Evaluate and make appropriate improvements to accounting controls and procedures
  • Specify and oversee accounting system upgrade
  • Manage internal database development as it relates to company finance

Quality Assurance Technician (Denver, CO)

Reports to: Technical Product Manager

Small highly technical software and engineering firm seeking to fill a position addressing assembly and quality assurance of microscope-based digital imaging systems. This is a multi-faceted role at a small (<40 employees) and fast growing company serving the field of biomedical research. The ideal candidate will be willing to address tasks in many areas and interested in working in a non-traditional and fast changing environment.

Responsibilities:
  • 40% - System Assembly
    • Participate in various manufacturing elements of 3i-organic products:
      • Inventory organization/management
      • Component assembly
      • Opto-mechanical alignment
      • Design review/feedback for R&D and product teams
  • 40% - Quality Assurance Testing
    • Provide value-added evaluation and characterization of received equipment.
    • Determine pass/fail conditions and refine evaluation protocols with engineering team.
    • Initiate out-of-box failure/RMA process with vendors as required.
    • Assemble system components and conduct broader quality assurance protocols at the system level.
    • Retain, index, and electronically log all QA documentation.
  • 20% - Field Installation
    • Represent the company at system level installations.
      • Meet delivered equipment on-location and restore to QA specification via installation, alignment, and configuration.
      • Interface with the end-user and review the 3i installation/training procedure for systems.
      • Prepare a comprehensive installation report and interface with the support team as required for follow-up.
      • Interface with arriving 3i application scientist and review installation.

Requirements:
  • The employer is a highly technical software and engineering firm. The ideal candidate will possess a Technical Associates degree and 5 years of relevant industry experience or a Bachelor's degree in a Life Sciences, Computer Sciences, or Engineering field. Extensive experience with computers, software, mechanical, optical and electrical components required. Experience in microscopy and biomedical sciences preferred. Field Service Engineer (Santa Monica, CA)

Reports to: Support Manager

Small highly technical software and engineering firm seeking to fill a position addressing post-sale customer support of microscope-based digital imaging systems. This is a multi-faceted role at a small (<40 employees) and fast growing company serving the field of biomedical research. The ideal candidate will be willing to address tasks in many areas and interested in working in a non-traditional and fast changing environment.

Responsibilities:
  • 50% - Telephone and Online Support
      Providing first response technical support to scientists at biomedical research laboratories using the company's imaging systems. Manning a support chair and fielding email and phone inquires immediately upon receipt. Troubleshooting support issues involving software installation and execution, opto-electronic hardware performance, and experimental setup. Documenting support issues and management of the reconciliation process via a case tracking structure.
  • 45% - Site Visits
      Extensive travel at times on short notice in the territory. Occasional assignments may be outside of the territory. Site visits will provide the same type of support as email and phone inquiries, and will also include software and hardware installation, systemic troubleshooting, basic hardware repair, equipment relocation and non-scientific user training.
  • 5% - Scientific Courses and Trade Shows
      Representation of the company from time to time at scientific courses and industry trade shows. Explanation of the products and services offered and instruction in their use.

Research Imaging Technical Sales Representative (West Coast, US)

Compensation Program: Base Salary + Commission
Travel: 50%
Summary:

Intelligent Imaging Innovations, an industry leader in customized research imaging systems, is currently seeking a self-motivated, sales driven individual to develop and maintain a sales territory within California, Oregon and/or Washington. The qualified individual will also be responsible for coordinating demonstrations and working with applications scientists to provide systems focused solutions to end users.

Responsibilities:
  • Generate and qualify leads within assigned territories (specific territory to be determined by geographical location of employee and experience)
  • Execute equipment demonstrations of customized research imaging systems
  • Work with staff scientists to meet the true application needs of each customer
  • Closely research imaging system sales
  • Install and train customers on research imaging systems
  • Provide sales and marketing with field based information to maintain product value and competitiveness
  • Maintain and manage current west coast customer base, assisting with minor support services as required
  • Attend regional and national trade shows
  • Achieve yearly quota
Qualifications:
Only qualified candidates will be considered:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in research imaging systems technology sales
  • Knowledge of microscopy-based imaging systems and CCD technology is essential
  • Bachelor's or advanced college degree preferred
  • Must be able to travel within given territory
  • Excellent customer relations skills and ability to give product based presentations are essential
  • Must be citizen or permanent resident of USA
